Notes from the Training Bureau - July 3, 1997

Effective July 1, 1997, "spousal impoverishment" rules for determining property eligibility and allocating income from the institutionalized spouse to the community spouse will now also apply where both spouses are living in the same home and one spouse is enrolled in a Program for All Inclusive Care (PACE) and the other spouse is not. Currently there are PACE programs in Alameda, Sacramento, and San Francisco counties.
