Getting to Your Hearing

We will schedule your hearing for an oral hearing in a county or state office in the county in which you live. This is true even if your hearing request is about a Notice of Action sent by another county.

Exception: Some hearings are conducted by telephone. Other hearings are heard on the record with the judge reviewing the evidence of record.

It is a good idea to arrive on time for your hearing. Sometimes the earlier you arrive, the earlier your hearing will be heard. However, since several hearings are scheduled for the same time, you may have to wait for your turn. The judge(s) will decide which cases will be heard first. Cases are usually heard in the order they are ready for hearing - when the claimant, county representative, and other parties and witnesses are ready. This may be different than the order in which claimants arrived at the hearing site.

Do NOT bring children to the hearing location unless you also bring someone to watch them while you are in your hearing. NO child care will be provided at the hearing location.
