This annual statistical report provides basic aggregate program data about the three adoption programs supervised by CDSS, including both public and private Agency Adoptions, Independent Adoptions, and Intercountry Adoptions.

In an effort to better understand the American Indian/Alaska Native children in the child welfare services program, this report documents the characteristics of child abuse referral and child welfare services caseload information relating to American Indian/Alaska Native children.

This annual statistical report provides information about children receiving Child Welfare Services (CWS) in California. The report includes characteristics of children referred to the Emergency Response, Family Maintenance, Family Reunification or Permanent Placement component for services.
Youth Emancipating From Foster Care in California: Findings Using Linked Administrative Data
The Former Foster Youth Study, conducted by the University of California, Berkeley examined the long-term outcomes for youth that emancipate from the foster care system. Seven California administrative databases were matched against youth who have left the foster care system from 1992 through 1997. The seven databases were from: Community Colleges Chancellor's Office, Department of Corrections, Department of Education, Department of Health Services (Medical Services and Vital Statistics), Department of Mental Health and the Youth Authority.
