Drought Disaster
Currently, this is no presidential declaration for the drought disaster. Therefore, the Emergency Food Assistance Program (EFAP) has not received any additional USDA food to serve these victims.
Until such time as the President’s office declares the disaster, victims may receive food as a regular EFAP recipient through their local food bank.
EFAP is a supplemental feeding program. What this means is that EFAP recipients receive an average of 3-5 days worth of food per month – versus disaster feeding which provides 30 days worth of food per month.
